Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, opened in 2010 in the historic warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis. Today, it remains one of the region’s most recognizable sports and entertainment venues, with a seating capacity of 38,544. In a facility like this, every finish needs to perform under pressure, especially in premium guest areas that are expected to look great, stay safe, and be ready for use on a tight schedule.
SwedeBro was selected to restore the floor outside the Cambria Suite, creating a more durable and attractive surface for a high-traffic hospitality space.
The Challenge
The existing epoxy flooring outside the suite had begun peeling, making it clear that a simple recoat would not deliver the long-term result the space needed. Before a new system could be installed, the old flooring had to be completely removed down to bare concrete.
SwedeBro’s team understood that successful resin flooring starts with proper preparation. Instead of covering up a failing surface, they took the right approach from the beginning. They did this by fully demoing the existing coating, evaluating the substrate, and preparing the concrete for a stronger bond. This kind of problem-solving is exactly why customers trust SwedeBro. The company has been serving the market for over 20 years, and their work is built around delivering flooring systems that are designed for the space, not rushed into place.
Why Polyaspartic Was the Right Fit
For this project, SwedeBro installed a polyaspartic flooring system. That choice was especially important because of the setting.
In a stadium environment, downtime is limited. Event schedules move quickly, and premium areas need to return to service fast. Polyaspartic coatings are well-suited for these conditions because they cure quickly and can handle foot traffic in as little as 6 hours. They also offer good chemical resistance, strong durability, and excellent ultraviolet and weathering characteristics.
Because the area outside the suite was relatively compact, SwedeBro was able to complete multiple installation steps in a single day. That efficiency helped minimize disruption for the customer and allowed the project to stay aligned with the stadium’s schedule.
Benefits for the Facility
This project was not just about replacing a failed floor. It was about installing a flooring system that better supports the way the space is actually used.
The new polyaspartic floor offers several important benefits:
Fast return to service
In a venue that hosts regular events, shorter cure times mean less downtime and fewer scheduling headaches. Polyaspartic systems are especially valuable in facilities that cannot afford to leave areas closed for long.
Improved cleanability
Unlike bare concrete, a resinous floor creates a sealed, non-porous surface that is easier to clean and maintain. In a stadium that welcomes tens of thousands of guests, that matters. Cleaner surfaces help premium hospitality spaces stay presentable while reducing maintenance headaches for staff.
Better durability
A properly installedresin flooring system stands up better to wear than a failing or poorly bonded previous coating. SwedeBro’s removal of the old material and careful preparation of the concrete gave the new system a much stronger foundation.
Slip resistance and safety
In public-facing environments, flooring must do more than look good. It also needs to support safer foot traffic. SwedeBro’s resinous flooring systems are designed with performance in mind, including slip-resistant options that help facilities balance appearance with function.
The Result
The finished floor gave the Cambria Suite exterior seating area a cleaner, more professional appearance while delivering the long-term performance the customer needed. Instead of dealing with a peeling coating, Target Field now has a resinous flooring system that is better suited for hospitality traffic, easier to maintain, and built for durability.
Most importantly, the project shows what customers gain when they work with SwedeBro. Which is a contractor that understands surface preparation, chooses the right system for the environment, and installs flooring with long-term performance in mind.
This was a fun project for the SwedeBro team, completed during the spring rush as the stadium prepared for baseball season. But beyond that, it was another example of SwedeBro doing what they do best, helping customers solve flooring problems with the right combination of expertise, preparation, and product selection.
